A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision with a Land Rover near Banbury.

Thames Valley Police traffic officers are appealing for witnesses to the fatal crash near Barford St Michael yesterday.

The crash happened on the B4031 Iron Down Hill at 6.37pm.

A black Kawasaki ZX motorcycle was involved in the collision with a red Land Rover Discovery.

A 53-year-old man, from Steeple Aston, who was riding the motorcycle, was taken to Horton General Hospital in Banbury, where he later died.

The road was closed for almost six hours while a collision investigation was carried out.

Pc Michael Barrett, from Bicester roads policing department, said: “The Land Rover was with three other 4x4 vehicles and the motorcycle was with two other bikes at the time of the collision.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who saw any of the vehicles prior to or at the time of the collision.”
