A HOUSING association repossessed a home in Abingdon after persistent antisocial behaviour from the tenant.

County Court bailiffs executed a warrant for possession at the property in Thames View on Friday. Tenant Louisa Haynes was not present.

A judge awarded possession of the property to Sovereign Vale Housing Association on May 25, with effect from June 20.

Ms Haynes was told to find alternative accommodation and remove her belongings, but she refused to leave and failed to return calls from the housing association.

Sovereign Vale’s head of housing services Ian Gilders said: “Her defiance of the court order was very unfortunate and meant the ordeal continued for the other residents.”

He said the episode had now been concluded and added: “Sovereign Vale takes antisocial behaviour very seriously and we are determined to work with our tenants and other agencies in tackling it.

“As this case demonstrates, we will take firm action when it is necessary.”

The judge also granted an injunction against Daniel Webb, Ms Haynes’s partner, ordering him to stay away from the Thames View area for nine months.
