People convicted of offences at Oxford Magistrates' Court recently include: Jake Steele, 18, of Jordan Hill Road, Oxford, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm in Wantage on November 14 and assault by beating in Oxford on March 20. Given a 10-week curfew and 100 hours’ unpaid work. Told to pay £275 compensation and £50 costs.

Amjad Mohammed, 31, of Randolph Street, Oxford, admitted possession of heroin (Class A) in Oxford on September 5. Fined £120, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £160 costs.

Michael Jarvis, 24, of Warwick Close, Carterton, admitted possession of ketamine (Class C) in Oxford on February 11. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs.

David Owen, 19, of Lansdowne Road, Dry Sandford, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Oxford on March 5. Fined £250, £300 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs.

Piotr Wiecek , 31, of Burchester Avenue, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Longwall Street, Oxford, on February 14. Namely having 86 milligrammes of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80 milligrammes. Fined £210, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Andrew Harris, 33, of Gordon Woodward Way, admitted stealing a pedal cycle valued at about £200 and going equipped for theft with a pair of boltcroppers in Oxford on March 3. Also admitted failing to surrender to court bail on April 1. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £80 costs.

Dion McHugh, 62, of Northmoor, Witney, admitted drink driving in Standlake Road, Northmoor, on Christmas Eve. Namely having 102 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 microgrammes. Fined £2,500, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £65 costs. Banned from driving for three years.

Lee Pullen, 29, of Burgan Close, Oxford, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on December 11 and failing to surrender to court bail on March 17. Given a four-month jail term, suspended for two years due to “sustained attack, biting, threats to kill, throwing a can of beer, forcing victim out of window, injuries. Victim felt degraded by violence”. Pullen also told to comply with two years’ supervision and 26 days of a domestic-violence programme. Also told to pay £60 costs.

John Way, 35, of Pearce Way, Thame, admitted receiving stolen goods, namely a TV valued at £219 from Sainsbury’s, in Thame on January 31, and failing to surrender to court bail on April 4. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £40 costs.

Jason Cullen, 22, of Owens Way, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a community order by not attending unpaid work on March 16. Original offence of drink driving resentenced. Given a two-month jail sentence, suspended for a year, and ordered to carry out 60 hours’ unpaid work and comply with a year’s supervision. Also told to pay £50 costs.

Joshua Crossan, 19, of Pinnocks Way, Botley, admitted failing to comply with a community order by failing to attend Thinking Skills programme on March 17. Given an extra 20 hours’ unpaid work.

Mark Pullen, 26, of Gerard Place, Oxford, admitted driving without insurance and while disqualified in St Omar Road, Oxford, on March 23. Given a six-week prison sentence, suspended for a year. Told to do 100 hours’ unpaid work and undertake a year’s supervision. Also told to pay £85 costs and given six penalty points.

Steven Atkinson, 39, of Green Man Lane, London, admitted acquiring, using or possessing criminal property, namely 10 bottles of perfumes, eight haircare products and six bottles of alcohol, in Henley-on-Thames on October 22. Also admitted failing to surrender to court bail on March 29. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £25 fine, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £25 costs.

Frank Brown, 54, of no fixed address, admitted using profane or obscene language in Cowley Road, Oxford, on March 5, and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined 50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Kyle Smith, 19, of Reedmace Close, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis (Class B) in Oxford on February 24. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 costs.

Kevin Hitchcock, 48, of Cherwell Street, Oxford, admitted cultivating 96 cannabis plants (Class B) in Oxford on March 24. Given a three-month curfew and told to pay £65 costs.

Havinder Dhanjal, 36, of Dashwood Road, Oxford, admitted drink driving in Oxford on December 3. Namely having 114 milligrammes of alcohol in 100ml of urine, above the legal limit of 107 milligrammes. Fined £350, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £120 costs. Banned from driving for three years.

Andrew Bull, 31, of Comb Paddock, Bristol, admitted harassment in Oxford between February 26 and March 11. Namely leaving gifts on a woman’s doorstep and contacting her using a fake Facebook account. Given a 24-month conditional discharge and a 19-month restraining order. Told to pay £65 costs.

Thomas McCarthy, 55, of Ashmole Place, Oxford, convicted of shoplifting a bottle of perfume valued at £30 from TK Maxx and assault by beating in Oxford on Christmas Eve. Fined £150, a £15 victims’ surcharge, and £150 costs.

Daniel Chandler, 27, of Stainfield Road, Oxford, convicted of assault by beating, driving without due care and attention and drink driving in Derwent Avenue, Oxford, on June 28, 2009. Namely having 78 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Also admitted failing to surrender to court bail on September 16, 2010. Told to do 120 hours’ unpaid work and pay £620 costs and £200 compensation. Banned from driving for three years.
