Traffic is flowing freely again on the A34 after a driver crashed into the central reservation near Oxford.

The accident happened shortly before 9am on the northbound carriageway between the Pear Tree and Botley interchanges.

Rebecca Webber, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said the driver of the silver Audi A1 was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital as a precaution but was not seriously hurt.

One lane was closed near the Wytham turn while traffic accident investigators dealt with the crash and the carriageway was reopened at 10.15am.

Drivers suffered delays on the A34 northbound and on the A420 approaching the Botley interchange.
