Sir – I am appalled with Cherwell District Council as I rarely go into Bicester but wanted to visit Shire Mobility.

We went on Monday, June 13, and I did what I have always done by placing my blue card and time etc in front of the windscreen to come back after 30 minutes to find an £80 fine! We did not see any notice when driving in the car park informing us that there had been a change with regard to blue card holders.

The warden must have been very close by because his ticket was printed the same time as we arrived.

Don’t you think he could have had the courtesy to come and tell us and we would have had the opportunity to pay whatever was required? I am in my late 80s and my husband 90 (we both find walking difficult).

I filled in an appeal form explaining the situation and by return of post a reply came saying we had to pay the £80.

We feel we are innocent as living in Buckinghamshire how were we to know of these recent change of plans?
