FOLLOWING the strike action taken recently by civil servants, including teachers, over pensions, there was one question that has not been asked, and that is, what makes civil servants and teachers think that they should retire early and get paid a far better pension than the rest of us?

There are many thousands of pensioners who not only worked right up to the state retirement age, but also have to try to live on a state pension.

If teachers think they should get more money, then so should everyone.

A loaf of bread costs the same whether you worked as a teacher in the public sector or for a company in the private sector.
