Linda Newbery, a former teacher at Wheatley Park, who left teaching in 2000 to write full-time at her home on the Oxfordshire/ Northants border, won the Costa Prize for her young adult novel Set in Stone.
Her latest story for younger readers, Lob, is published in paperback by David Fickling (£5.99). It tells of a contemporary young child’s encounter with the Green Man.
