People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

Chris Tuffy, 31, of Saxton Road, Abingdon, admitted having an article with a blade or point, namely a lock knife, in public and being drunk and disorderly in Stratton Way, Abingdon on April 1. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.

Stephen Buckle, 51, of Thames View, Abingdon, admitted being in possession of 34ml of methadone in Abingdon on October 24 and driving while unfit through drugs in Ock Street, Abingdon, on the same date. Fined £150, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for three years.

Steven Hedges, 23, of Harwood Road, East Hagbourne, admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm in Didcot on November 13. Given a six-month curfew and told to pay £3,000 compensation and £85 costs.

Ashley Powell, 20, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted possession of cocaine in Milton on March 5. Fined £50 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

Mark Bain, 45, of Roebuck Court, Didcot, admitted drink-driving in Main Road, East Hagbourne, on March 26. Namely having 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 microgrammes. Fined £300, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 18 months.

Sophie Cox, 18, of Brentford Close, Cholsey, admitted two charges of assault by beating and possession of cannabis in Wallingford on March 27. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 compensation.

Ronnie Pearson, 29, of Elizabeth Walk, Reading, admitted shoplifting mobile-phone accessories valued at £140 from Carphone Warehouse in Oxford on March 31 and commission of a further offence while subject to a suspended sentence. Jailed for eight weeks.

Gail Silvester, 40, of Poffley End, Hailey, near Witney, admitted failing to notify West Oxfordshire District Council of a change of circumstances, namely that she and her partner were earning in excess of the prescribed limits, affecting her right to council tax benefit and housing benefit between February 2009 and December 2010. Fined £135, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £75 costs.

David Slaney, 57, of Drayton Road, Abingdon, admitted failing to notify the Department for Work and Pensions of a change of circumstances affecting his right to claim jobseeker’s allowance, and failing to notify Harrogate Council of a change of circumstances affecting his right to claim housing benefit between November 2009 and February 2010. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £75 costs.

Brett Ward, 29, of Cowley Road, Oxford, admitted failing to attend a drug assessment in Oxford on March 7 and failing to surrender to court bail on March 28. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £35 costs.

Majid Aslam, 24, of Randolph Street, Oxford, admitted drink-driving on the Eastern Bypass on February 27. Namely having 97 milligrams of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80 milligrams. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Cristian Grigore, 27, of Rectory Road, Hounslow, admitted going equipped for theft, with a foil-lined rucksack, in Henley on March 19. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £85 costs.

Jamie Wilkins, 18, of Kirtlington Road, Chesterton, admitted assaulting Pc Mark Miller in Oxford on March 13. Given a six-week curfew and told to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.

Paul Bright, 31, of no fixed address, admitted theft of £3,000 from Goddard & Sons Kitchens in Faringdon between March 8 and 10. Given a six-week jail term, suspended for a year. Given 12 months’ supervision and told to do 150 hours’ unpaid work. Told to pay £3,000 compensation.

Stephen Finegan, 21, of Brunel Crescent, Grove, admitted driving while unfit through drugs and possession of ketamine on the A4421 at Bicester on February 6. Fined £200, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for a year.

Michael Pomeroy, 18, of Stowford Road, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis in Oxford on March 11. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £15 costs.

l Emma White, 21, of Magdalen Road, Oxford, convicted of persistently loitering in a street or public place, namely Brixton Hill, Lambeth, for the purpose of prostitution on February 12. Also convicted of failing to surrender to court bail on February 16. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs. Deemed paid by detention in the court until the end of the day.

Gavin Minns, 33, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, convicted of driving while disqualified and without insurance in Boundary Brook Road, Oxford, on November 4. Jailed for eight weeks, consecutive to current prison sentence already being served. Banned from driving for a year.

Marcus Forbes, 25, of Leiden Road, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a suspended sentence by failing to attend unpaid work on January 5. Given 15 extra hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £50 costs.

Barry O’Loughlin, 34, of Hockmore Tower, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a community order by failing to attend a thinking skills programme on December 16, 2010. Given a two-week curfew and told to pay £100 costs.

Lauren Townsend, 19, of Great Western Drive, Didcot, admitted failing to adhere to a curfew imposed as part of a community order on February 27; March 4, 17, 19, 27, and 31; and April 1; and removing the electronic tag on February 25. Curfew extended for a month and 11 days from 7am to 7pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Ross Chittock, 25, of Gainsborough Green, Abingdon, admitted failing to comply with a community order. Given a six-week curfew and told to pay £50 costs.
