A normally busy road in Abingdon was filled with children playing as residents held a traditional street party.
Swinburne Road was closed on Sunday for the event and residents moved cars usually parked in the road.
Live bands, barbecues and a talent contest filled the street instead, and neighbours gathered for a meal together in the afternoon.
Resident Matt Webb, 39, said: “Everyone was just enjoying each other’s company and having fun.
“There was a really nice community spirit and we met neighbours we never really knew existed. It was probably how it used to be, with lots of children.”
