Retirement village Richmond Letcombe Regis is marketing hotel-style holiday packages for those who need assistance, giving carers a chance to take time out.

Richmond Retreats offers full or half-board packages and guests can opt for as much or little assistance as they need.

As part of the scheme, Valerie Thwaites, project manager for Oxfordshire Carers’ Forum’s Caring with Confidence scheme, is running free half-day courses in June and July.

This is designed to give information and support to anyone looking after a friend or relative in the community.

Guest apartments at Letcombe Regis include a living room, one or two bedrooms and an en-suite shower room. The kitchenette is stocked with basics, or guests can eat in the restaurant.

Facilities include a spa with a swimming pool, gym, health and beauty treatment rooms, a hair salon, restaurant, café, shop, IT and craft rooms, library and bowling green.

Activities include art classes, bridge, bowls, film nights, happy hours, supper clubs, visiting speakers and live performances.

The Richmond Retreat holidays are for a minimum of three nights and are also available at two other developments in Nottingham and the Cotswolds. Prices start from £150.
