I FELT I had to write to highlight the dangers of walking to my local shops in Headington.
On entering the subway under Headington roundabout, I, and others, were nearly knocked over by a speeding cyclist, only to be followed by six or seven more with no regard for us, or the sign above the entrance, asking cyclists to dismount and walk.
We carried on, only to encounter vans and cars completely parked on the footpath. Then, on reaching the shops, we came across more cyclists weaving in and out of the shoppers.
On our return journey, we walked around the side of McDonalds where cars were parked on double yellow lines, forcing us on to the service road.
I have since spoken to one or two PSCOs, but, not surprisingly, the problem still continues, and we have seen nobody challenging these offenders.
Until things improve, I will be taking my granddaughter out on the bus.
