WE think it shows a lack of respect for those killed in Afghanistan for their corteges to leave RAF Brize Norton by the back entrance (Monday’s Oxford Mail).
If the repatriation flights are landing at Brize Norton, why can’t their bodies of the servicemen come out of the main gate? And why can’t they come through Carterton, so that family and friends and the Royal British Legion can form a guard of honour?
If it’s market day on Thursday, personnel could be brought back on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
