RESIDENTS in an Oxford care home went strictly ballroom yesterday with a spot of music and dancing.
Victoria Yellop, a classically-trained violinist who has played for the Queen, dropped into the Isis Care Home, in Cornwallis Road.
Home events organiser Monica Karwal said: “It was a really nice treat for everyone here, Victoria has played for crowds of 75,000 people.
“We try and organise a few big events every year here, and we thought this would be nice and different.”
Ms Yellop, played a selection of tunes, from romantic classics to pop songs and music from the 1960s, with Oxford University students joining in the dancing.
Mrs Karwal said: “The dancing was really impressive. It was nice and summery, just in time for the start of summer."
