THIS was the impressive sight as Girl Guides marched through Oxford in March 1974.
They made their way along St Giles and through Cornmarket Street to St Aldate’s Church for their annual church parade.
They were led by the 1st Horspath Scout band.
The 500 Guides and Brownies from the north, west and south districts of Oxford City Division 2 renewed their promises during the service, which was conducted by the Rector of St Aldate’s, the Rev Keith de Berry.
The collection at the service went to the Woodlarks Cripple Camp site, where disabled people enjoyed camping holidays.
