A popular footpath along the River Thames has been restored after it collapsed.
Hinton Waldrist Footpath at Tadpole Bridge, Buckland Marsh, near Bampton, crumbled due to the power of the river and weak underlaying clay.
But Oxfordshire County Council reached an agreement with the landowner to protect it from future erosion. The path has been widened, from one metre to four metres, and has been moved further from the river bank.
The scheme cost £7,400, which included compensation to the landowner and all legal costs.
Oxfordshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Transport Rodney Rose said: “We are very pleased to restore this footpath along what is one of nicest stretches of the Thames.”
