A woman suffered minor injuries this morning after her scooter was involved in a collision with a car on the A34.

The accident took place at 8.40am on the northbound carriageway between the Abingdon North and Hinksey Hill interchanges.

South Central Ambulance staff took the 37-year-old woman to the John Radcliffe Hospital following the crash involving the Piaggio scooter and a SEAT Leon.

Drivers were delayed as one lane was closed while emergency services dealt with the accident.

Adam Fisher, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said: “The woman suffered minor injuries and the driver of the car was not hurt.

“The lane was reopened to traffic at 9.30am.”

Meanwhile, drivers were also delayed by an accident on the A40, near Eynsham, this morning.
