Skipper Jason Harrison reached the milestone of 5,000 Premier League runs during his unbeaten 55 as he steered Division 1 leaders Oxford to a five-wicket win over second-placed Harpenden at Rover Cowley.

After winning the toss and putting the Hertfordshire side in to bat, Oxford bowled the visitors out for 163.

Stuart Hole was the chief destroyer, taking three of the first four wickets to fall, before returning to mop up the tail and finish with 5-32.

Shamilal Mendis and Usman Arif, who both picked up 2-38, provided good support.

Harrison then played the anchor role to take Oxford to victory with his runs coming off 143 balls with five fours.

He lost opening partner Dan King early on, before Stewart Laudat joined the Oxford captain to take the score to 56 when he was caught and bowled by Jon Ryan.

Nick Ferraby then went without scoring, and when Jamie Perkin also fell cheaply, Oxford were 94-4.

But Ian Crosby (35) added 61 with Harrison, whose 5,000 runs have come at an average of 37, for the fifth wicket to take Oxford to the brink of victory, which they secured in the 54th over.
