Fire crews were called to blazes in Cowley Road, Ridgefield Road, Evelyn Court and the Grates at about 4.20am.
No one was injured, though a young family with two children had to be led to safety when the fire in the Grates spread to their property. The fire in Ridgefield Road, which was started in a wheelie bin at 4.47am, spread to a nearby vehicle.
In each case, the blaze started in a bin.
Fire officer Rob MacDougall said: “We believe that all these fires were started deliberately. Two of these fires spread into buildings and in one case put a family in serious danger.
“Our crews were able to respond quickly and bring the fires under control before they became more serious.
“We will be assisting the police with their investigations.”
