*Tracey Egdell, 39, of Lenthall Road, Abingdon, admitted failing to tell Vale of White Horse District Council of a change in circumstances regarding entitlement to housing and council tax benefit on April 10, 2008, namely that she was in receipt of income. Given a 36-month conditional discharge due to “psychiatric problem, her inability to undertake community requirements and to be confined under a curfew, and her lack of finances”.

*Paul Fisher, 48, of Kynaston Road, Didcot, admitted failing to tell South Oxfordshire District Council that his wife, Caroline Fisher, was working at St Birinus School, Didcot, when making a claim for housing and council tax benefit on January 24, 2008. Given an eight-week curfew and told to pay £250 costs.

* Mark Denny, 22, of Paddock Close, Wantage, convicted of assault by beating in Wantage on October 9. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 compensation and £225 costs.

*Marlon Bryan, 23, of Bailey Road, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis (Class B) in Oxford on January 28. Fined £60 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

* Lee Buckley, 34, of Pilcher Court, St Clement’s Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting jeans valued at £65 from Crew Clothing Co and going equipped for theft in Oxford on March 21. Also admitted failing to attend a drug assessment on November 16; shoplifting alcohol valued at £120 from Waitrose in Abingdon on August 13; going equipped for theft in Abingdon on August 16; shoplifting alcohol valued at £16.79 from Somerfield in Abingdon on August 13; shoplifting three Cow and Gate infant milk containers valued at £23.37 from Co-op in Marston on February 6; shoplifting three bottle of alcohol, valued at £72.29, from Sainsbury’s and going equipped for theft in Thame on March 3; and failing to surrender to court bail on March 18. Jailed for 16 weeks due to “previous record, accumulation of offences over a short peroid of time and failure to attend appointments for drug rehabilitation”.

* James Holloway, 36, of Darnell Walk, Bicester, admitted failing to attend a drug-assessment follow-up on January 18. Fined £80 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

* David Pearcey, 36, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted being drunk or disorderly in Speedwell Street on March 1. Fined £45 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

* Martin Alder, 23, of Hundred Acres Close, Oxford, admitted driving without a licence and without insurance in Rose Hill, Oxford, on March 6. Fined £150, with £15 victims’ surcharge and £30 costs. Given eight penalty points.

* Ricky Tremlett, 20, of Donnington Bridge Road, Oxford, convicted of criminally damaging a window valued at £200 and assault by beating on December 22 in Oxford. Sent to a young offenders’ institution for 56 days.

* Luke McDonagh, 20, of Haywards Close, Henley-on-Thames, admitted failing to comply with a community order by failing to attend unpaid work on July 25. Original offences of burglary, taking a vehicle without consent, possession of cocaine, possession of cannabis, driving without a licence and failure to surrender to court bail resentenced. Given a three-month young offenders’ sentence, suspended for 12 months. Told to do 200 hours’ unpaid work and undertake six months’ supervision.

* Liam Noonan, 30, of Union Street, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a community order by failing to attend supervison on March 3. Given a two-week curfew.

* Alistair Aitken, 23, of Preston Road, Abingdon, admitted failing to comply with a direction given by a police constable not to return to Ock Street within 48 hours on December 11. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £50 costs.

DIDCOT

*Povel Oglodek, 32, of Forget-Me-Not Way, Oxford, admitted failing to provide a roadside specimen for analysis. Given 150 hours’ unpaid work and told to pay £85 costs. Banned from driving for two years.

*Lee Smith, 28, of Meadside, Dorchester-on-Thames, admitted having an article with a blade or point, namely a Stanley knife, in Dorchester High Street on January 14. Given three months’ supervision and told to attend the employment, education and training programme for 10 days. Also told to do 150 hours’ unpaid work.

* Catriona Cobbold, 45, of Parkside Cottages, Hinton Waldrist, convicted of driving without due care and attention on the A420 at Hinton Waldrist on October 11. Fined £300, a £15 victims’ surcharge, £85 costs, and six penalty points.

*John Corcoran, 22, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, admitted shoplifting food from Esso in Marcham Road, Abingdon, on January 18 and making off without payment for £79.85 of fuel in Abingdon on January 30. Given a two-year conditional discharge and told to pay £84.85 compensation and £85 costs.

*Barry Godfrey, 31, of Kysbie Close, Abingdon, admitted possessing cocaine (Class A) and drinking driving on February 24 in Kysbie Close, Abingdon. Had 114 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35. Given a four-month curfew and told to do 80 hours’ unpaid work. Banned from driving for two years.
