POLICE patrols have been stepped up in East Oxford following a report of another sex attack.

Yesterday the Oxford Mail reported two sex assaults in Southfield Road, which involved three women.

But now another victim has come forward to say she was also attacked.

On Thursday morning, two women, aged 20 and 19, were walking along Southfield Road at about 2.47am when a man jumped out from a bush and sexually assaulted them.

One of the women pushed the man away and they managed to run off.

On Sunday, a 21-year-old woman was followed by a man along Cowley Road into Southfield Road at around 3am.

He grabbed her and tried to pull her into an alleyway but the woman managed to fight him off.

And now another woman, aged 24, has since contacted police to report that she was also assaulted in the same street in the early hours the same morning.

PCSO David Atkinson said: “We would like to reassure residents that we have stepped up patrols in the area to identify the person responsible.

“We have been delivering leaflets to people in Southfield Road and the surrounding areas to inform them of the incidents and to ask for people with information to come forward.”

The attacker is described as Asian, in his 20s, about 5ft 8ins to 5ft 10ins tall, of slim to medium build with short black hair, possibly in tight curls. The first victim described the man as having a flat nose.

Anyone with information should call Sgt Claire Storry on 08458 505505 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
