YOUNGSTERS on Blackbird Leys are taking part in cookery workshops to encourage them to live a healthier lifestyle.
The 10-week Tweenager programme for nine to 11-year-olds also features exercise classes, including street dancing, karate and agility games.
Oxford City Council’s Mark Lygo said: “This is a great project for young people to get involved in and show them how they can enjoy a healthy lifestyle as well as encouraging healthy eating in their home.
“The cooking element is also a great tool that they can use in their home with their families.”
Later in the project, funded by Blackbird Leys Parish Council, the children will design a perfect picnic basket ready for the Leys Live Well Day in July.
