PUPILS at Headington Junior School learned French with the aid of colour films. Ann Slack, on the left in the first picture, who wrote the script and played the teacher in the films, visited the school to introduce the revolutionary method in 1965.
Nine girls from the Vera Legge School of Dancing are seen in the second picture rehearsing for an appearance with the London Festival Ballet at the New Theatre in 1971.
The Townswomen’s Guild held an autumn fair at Oxford Town Hall in 1961 and around one of the stalls, in the third picture, there seemed to be more customers than goods on sale.
