PUPILS from four schools in Marston, Oxford, teamed up in 1990 to form a huge choir, accompanied by 10 instrumentalists.
The 250 singers from St Nicholas First School, St Michael’s First School, New Marston First School and Marston Middle School joined forces for two special concerts under the name of Marston Music Makers.
The programme included music hall songs and ex-cerpts from Sweeney Todd. In addition, each school also performed their own numbers.
Marion Routh, music co-ordinator at the middle school, where the concerts were held, said: “The aim was to bring the schools together so that the younger children could come and see what happens at the middle school.”
