A 27-year-old woman was robbed of her handbag as she walked along Botley Road in Oxford.

The woman was close to the junction with Lamarsh Road between 10.10pm and 10.30pm on Monday when she was approached from behind by a man.

The man threatened the woman before grabbing her handbag. When she screamed, he ran off in the direction of the city centre.

He is white, in his mid-thirties, about 5ft 7in tall, of a stocky build with dark eyes and a beard/moustache of a few days growth. He was wearing a hooded grey jumper and spoke with an English accent.

Det Con David Rogers, of the Priority Crime Team based in Oxford, said: “Thankfully the victim was unhurt following her ordeal but she was left shaken.

“We are appealing for anyone who saw the offence occur or someone matching the description of the offender to come forward.”
