THE Lions Club staged its eighth Old Time Music Hall in 1976, with packed houses at all four performance in Banbury Technical College theatre. At least one member of the audience appeared in Edwardian garb, with boater, striped blazer and sideboards. The production raised £400 for the Horton General Hospital.
Banbury Rotary Club organised a street music festival in 1985 in aid of the proposed Katharine House hospice – and one of the instruments was a barrel organ, seen in the second picture with Rotarian Roy Watkins.
Banbury Inner Wheel Club celebrated its 30th anniversary with a lunch at General Foods’ social club in 1976. Seen toasting the next 30 years in the third picture are, from left, Katherine Hunt, Joan Clarke, and principal guest Pat Hamilton Smith, district governor of Inner Wheel clubs.
