THE tales of a mad teacher who wanted to become an inventor formed the highlight of a special open day involving all the children at West Kidlington School.
Parents toured round the classrooms to watch Mad Skelter’s Adventures, a play put together by resident artists Helen Jacobs and Lizzy McBain and the school’s 380 pupils.
The day incorporated much of the creative work that has taken place over the last year through the Change School art project, including canalware painting workshops and sessions in making material from recycled plastic.
Project co-ordinator Julie Holland said: “The play went round the school incorporating all the different songs children had learned, and everyone was involved.”
Erik Flooding, six, said: “It was really good fun and the mums and dads loved it.”
