THE police are committed to road safety says Sara Thornton (Oxford Mail letters, May 13).

But that statement seems to be seriously flawed if the experiences of people living next to her headquarters are concerned.

It is a statement that is far from the truth, as her staff and visitors regularly impose blight, danger and obstruction to local residents by parking outside their houses.

She seems unable to stop such behaviour and to recognise that local residents have a right to a decent environment and not be placed in danger through poor management of the site.

If Sara Thornton cannot bring road safety to those on her doorstep, then there is no hope of her making the Thames Valley region any safer.
