MUM-OF-TWO Jo Scarrott is using her inheritance to open a new café.
Mrs Scarrott, 30 pictured right with friend Elaina Sykes – of Station Road, Cholsey, opened the café at The Pound in the village on Monday.
Mrs Scarrott, a former Network Rail project manager, said: “As far as I am aware this is Cholsey’s first ever café and I am hoping it will be used by lots of people living in the village and become a focal point.
“My grandfather, Titch Allen, died last year aged 94, and he wanted me to use his money to do something like this. I spend a lot of time with other mums in the village and I know they would welcome a café here.
“In the past, this shop has been a shoe shop, a bakery and an accountants. With 250 new homes being built at Cholsey Meadows there will soon be even more demand.”
