Sir – Several times recently while approaching the roundabout at the junction of the A420 and A415 towards Kingston Bagpuize I have had to take severe evasive action to avoid a collision, due to traffic not slowing down.

This dangerous situation is due to the speed of cars and lorries coming from Oxford. Several drivers will not give way to oncoming traffic from the right.

Suitable extra warning signs should be in force to drivers from Oxford, alerting them of this hazardous roundabout — Oxford Highways Department, please note.

It is just a question of time, before a very serious collision takes place.

What measures would readers/drivers suggest to cut down the chances of a collision, other than lights on, driving below 20mph, signalling and positioning their car in the correct filter lane leading off the roundabout to Kingston Bagpuize?

I have 50 years’ experience, passed army and civilian driving tests, with no insurance claims. Please publish this letter, before somebody is killed.
