Cancer drug campaigner Clive Stone has done so much for other people.

He has battled tirelessly to improve access to life-saving drugs when NHS purse strings are often pulled too tight.

Mr Stone so impressed David Cameron that the PM pledged a £200m cancer drug fund to make sure people got the treatment they needed.

Now Clive has a fresh fight on his hands.

He has undergone numerous operations since being diagnosed with kidney cancer.

However, an operation to save his life and remove a brain tumour is one trip to the operating theatre too far for NHS Oxfordshire.

How terrible an irony that a man who has devoted so much time to helping others is again at the mercy of health service bean counters.

He will find out on Wednesday if an appeal has been successful. Best wishes Clive, from all of us.
