Sales of the Cowley-built Mini have taken a surprising fall in the United Kingdom, with bosses blaming the successive bank holidays.
Latest figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) reveal 2,335 cars were sold in April, compared to 2,869 for the same month last year, a drop of 18.6 per cent.
The figure contrasts with the statistics for March when sales rose by more than 17 per cent.
