THE Conservatives unsurprisingly have held West Oxfordshire District Council on a bad night for the Liberal Democrats.

With all 16 ward results announced, the Lib Dems have lost three of their councillors - leader Richard Andrews and his colleage Peter Madden, while the party was not able to retain the Charlbury & Finstock ward where Michael Breakell retired.

The Tories have increased their hold on the council by three seats from the Lib Dems and with the change in status of Charles Cottrell-Dormer from Independent to Tory in the Stonesfield and Tackley ward.
