SO at last there has been an outbreak of common sense in Oxford over May Morning.
The heavy-handed and expensive security measures imposed by the councils and police in recent years were removed, nobody did anything too dangerous or silly, everyone had a good time and council tax payers were saved thousands of pounds.
As a member of UKIP I believe strongly in individual liberty and responsibility, with as little arbitrary interference from well-meaning busybodies as possible, so naturally I was delighted it all went off so well. Perhaps in future such common sense could be a regular feature of our local government and its policies.
