Police are appealing for witnesses to a robbery at Folly Bridge Stores, Oxford.
At about 2pm on Monday, two white men and a black man entered the shop and demanded cash and cigarettes.
It is believed they left by running along the towpath and may have been carrying cigarettes stolen in the raid.
Det Con Lucinda Bevan said: “This area was busy with tourists and locals enjoying the Bank Holiday and I would urge anyone who saw three men matching this description and acting unusually to contact me.”
Witnesses or anyone with information about the incident should contact Oxford CID via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
