INSPIRED by the TV show Strictly Come Dancing, Woodstock residents are strutting their stuff at a weekly tea dance.
Gwen Morris, who organises the sessions at Woodstock Social Club in Oxford Street, said: “When we started it seven years ago, Strictly Come Dancing was starting. We found people wanted to come and learn to dance and it’s proved very popular.”
She added: “We’ve had one or two romances starting, which is nice to see.
“But it’s also one of the best ways of exercising and something you can do with no ill effects.”
Inge Cradock, 69, of Blake Road, Bicester, said: “It’s really beneficial and lots of people should do it.”
The tea dances take place on Tuesday afternoons between 2pm and 4pm.
A dance class also runs at the club from 7.30-11pm on Thursday evenings. For more information, call Mrs Morris on 01993 811473.
