PEOPLE will be given an insight into Bicester’s fascinating history when a major exhibition opens.

Roman artefacts, Saxon skeletons and a recently renovated Georgian Fire Pump will be on show at Bicester Methodist Church Hall in Sheep Street, on Saturday, May 21.

The exhibition is part of Bicester Local History Society’s 25th anniversary celebrations.

More than 50 exhibitors have been lined up, including other history societies, collectors and Oxfordshire County Council’s museum service.

Society secretary and exhibition co-organiser Peter Chivers said: “There’s been nothing we have done on this scale for nearly 20 years. It’s to show people the wealth of history and heritage that exists in the town centre.”

Saxon skeletons excavated during work at Bicester Roman Catholic Church will also be on display.
