A GROUP of singing students from Oxford were delighted to get three passes through to the next round of ITV’s show Britain’s Got Talent.

Out Of The Blue are 15 students from Oxford University and Oxford Brookes University.

They have performed at Oxford Playhouse and Christ Church Cathedral and toured the US.

On Saturday’s show, the brainy bunch, who study a range of subjects including chemistry, maths and classics, impressed judges Michael McIntyre, Louis Walsh and Amanda Holden with an a capella medley, featuring Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance and Justin Timberlake’s SexyBlack.

Nick Barstow, a student at St Catherine’s College, said afterwards: “It was a fantastic experience performing for the judges and the live audience at the Hammersmith Apollo.

“Even if we go no further than this stage, it will definitely have been worth it.”

The group are now preparing for a concert at the New Theatre in George Street, Oxford, on Monday, May 30, where they will showcase new material as well as singing old favourites.
