Ardington under 11's became champions of the Oxford mail A league on Sunday 1st May thanks to a 7-2 victory at home to Crowmarsh. This was the last game of the season for Ardington with so much still to play for. In the first half some of the football played by both sides was a joy to watch and Ardington deserved to go in at half time 2-1 up with goals from Joe Herbert and a header from Kieran Kerby. Crowmarsh played some nice football and were always a threat. The second half like so many games this season saw Ardington becoming stronger and more determined, forcing Crowmarsh into errors by constantly pressuring the ball. Jake Denton lashed the ball in for Ardingtons third after some great build up play and this then was the catalyst for Ardington to score again through Jake Denton who went on to get his hatrick followed by more goals from Kieran Kerby and Joe Herbert. Steve Norton, Ardington managers, Kev Denton who has helped all season with the coaching and Stu Kerby who looks after the keepers, were the proudest men in Oxfordshire along with 15 other sets of parents.
