EMERGENCY crews are searching for a missing swimmer after he was seen in trouble in the River Thames.
Police and firefighters are have mounted a rescue operation in Abingdon, where they are still searching for the missing man.
A member of the public reported seeing a man in trouble at about 4.30pm.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "We had a call from a member of the public expressing concern about a male that they thought was in trouble in the river.
"They then lost sight of him. We are at the scene trying to locate this male."
A police helicopter and the underwater search unit are currently at the scene at Abingdon Marina.
