Police today released a photograph of a car in which a man who absconded from a prison is believed to have left Bicester.

Jarreau Charles walked out of HMP Springhill in Grendon Underwood on Tuesday and it is believed he was picked up by a white Ford Fiesta, registration LL10 OYU, from Bicester later the same evening.

It is not known where the car or Charles went, although police said it was thought he was either in Oxford or London as he has connections to both cities, Harrow and Pinner.

Det Chief Insp Rebecca Mears said: β€œI am keen to hear from anyone who saw Jarreau Charles in the car or know where he was dropped off or is staying.

β€œIt is a criminal offence to knowingly assist or harbour an escaped prison or prevent, hinder or interfere with him being taken back into lawful custody.”

Anyone who sees Jarreau Charles or knows where he may be should not approach him as he is considered dangerous but should contact Thames Valley Police via the 24-hour enquiry centre on 0845 8 505 505.
