At a time when local authorities are facing a substantial squeeze on their finances, which are hitting local services hard, it seems incredible that the Government can find money to fund a no-fly zone over Libya and money to bail out Portugal, Greece and Ireland – all which are in a currency we wisely never joined.
Why are we funding their mistakes? There is a risk that we will we not see this money again (Greece is already on the brink of default).
One has to wonder where this Government’s priorities really lie.
