OXFORD: A defeated finalist from three years ago has been crowned this year’s champion in the BBC TV quiz show Mastermind.
Ian Bayley, 36, from Oxford, was runner-up in the show in 2008.
In this year’s final, screened on Friday, Mr Bayley answered questions on paintings for his specialist subject, scoring 18 points with no passes. He scored 19 in the general knowledge round to win.
