Police today appealed for witnesses after a teenage moped rider from Kidlington died after a crash just outside Deddington.

Police said a grey Audi A6, travelling away from Deddington, on the B4031 Clifton Road, collided with a stationary red Aprilia moped.

The rider of the moped, a 16-year-old boy from Kidlington, was taken to the Horton Hospital, Banbury, where he died from his injuries.

The driver of the Audi, a 52-year-old man from Banbury, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The passengers in the Audi were not injured.

The incident happened at about 9pm yesterday.
