SIX months of roadworks to remodel the Heyford Hill roundabout on the southern outskirts of Oxford will start on Monday.
The work, being carried out by Sainsbury’s and Oxfordshire County Council, was due to start this week but was delayed.
Commuters using the roundabout have been warned to expect delays.
Two new lanes will be cut through the junction, the eastbound section of the bypass will be widened and slip roads improved.
Temporary 30mph speed limits will be in place for more than 200 metres along all three roads leading to the roundabout, the A423, A3142 and A4074.
A Sainsbury’s spokesman said: “In the event of any major delays, Sainsbury’s contractors will work closely with the council to ensure the problem is rectified. The work should ultimately benefit everyone who uses the roundabout.”
