Police arrested four people following the theft of copper from a vehicle in Church Street, Didcot.

Following a call from a member of the public at 1am yesterday, reporting suspicious activity in the area of Hagbourne Road, Didcot, three men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

A 24-year-old woman; a 22-year-old man; a 35-year-old man; and a 41-year-old man, all from Swindon, have been bailed to attend Abingdon police station on Wednesday, May 11.

PC Ian Leese, from Didcot CID, said: “I would like to remind tradesmen of the importance of ensuring that all tools and valuable items are not left in your vehicles overnight. Do not give thieves the opportunity to take your belongings.”
