I AM writing to ask Oxford Mail readers to help stock our shops this month and support their local Marie Curie Cancer Care nursing service.

People can lend a hand by clearing out their cupboards and taking any unwanted items to their local Marie Curie Cancer Care shop in Headington, Oxford.

Or, why not get colleagues involved and hold a donation day at work? Our charity shops especially need more donations of high quality ladies’ clothing, but books, menswear, china, linen and toys are also very welcome.

We are reliant on the generosity of local people – whether they donate or shop with us – to raise the funds needed to care for terminally ill people and their families.

On average, each bag of donated goods raises £20 which will provide one hour of Marie Curie nursing care.

For more information pop into the shop in Headington, visit mariecurie.org.uk/springclean, or call 01865 308158.

Every donation will help Marie Curie nurses care for more people who wish to spend their final days at home, surrounded by their loved ones.
