FORMER Banbury resident Rebekah Linzey-Jones will be limbering up at the start line to raise cash for a young people’s charity.

Ms Linzey-Jones, 22, who grew up in the town and now lives in London, will run to help the Banbury Young Homeless Project – BYHP.

She said: “I know that every donation will make the training in the rain, in the dark, in the mud, in the snow, the sweating, injuries, tears, laughs, and crossing that finish line, so much more worthwhile and I really appreciate any support.”

Clare Norton, interim chief executive officer at the Castle Street charity, said: “BYHP is delighted that Rebekah is running the 2011 London Marathon to raise funds for our charity.

“BYHP supports over 350 vulnerable young people each year in North Oxfordshire to find housing, become independent, to gain employment or enter education.

“Rebekah’s generous fundraising will help us to provide our housing crisis and homelessness prevention services into 2011, a time where the recession and cuts to public funding is likely to put our services at risk.”
