THIS is another picture of the Teenbeats, one of the local groups which played at the Carfax Assembly Rooms in Oxford.
As we recalled (Memory Lane, January 24), the five-strong band – Mick Hopcroft, Tony Meehan, Mick Charlton, Richard Burrage and Mike Godwin – was formed at Sunday night music sessions at the Red Lion pub at Wolvercote.
They performed at venues across Oxfordshire in the 1960s, as well as embarking on weekend tours to places such as Southampton, Southsea and Salisbury.
