THE Pride of Longbridge Rally is an annual event that celebrates the fantastic achievements and history of the Longbridge car plant.

This year’s event is on Saturday, April 16, in Birmingham’s beautiful Cofton Park, which is next to the plant.

The organisers of the rally are keen to also celebrate the history that Cowley and Longbridge share and I, along with them, thought it would be a great idea if a few cars built while Cowley and Longbridge shared their historic links could convoy from Cowley to Longbridge to join the rally.

I would like to invite to owners of Cowley or Longbridge-built cars to contact me, so we could arrange to meet and convoy to Longbridge together.

The Pride of Longbridge Rally is a fantastic event and this year they are expecting 1,000 vehicles, which will be an amazing sight and a real treat for any enthusiast of British motor heritage.

Both the Pride of Longbridge Rally and the convoy are free of charge. To find out more, there are details online. And if you are interested in either joining the convoy from Cowley to Longbridge or just want to find out more, please either call me on 07929 868284 or email tanyafield@supanet.com.

If your friends, family, neighbours or colleagues have Longbridge or Cowley-built cars, please tell them about this event.

There could not be a better way to celebrate and keep alive our historic links by driving, in convoy, our Maestros, Montegos, Metros, Rover SD1s, Princesses, Maxis and other memorable models.
