THE four teenagers in the first picture were the right ones to have around in an emergency. The foursome from Wheatley Park School won a Red Cross first aid competition in 1984. Seen with their trophy are, from left, Robert Gray, 17, Catherine Jackson, 15, Heather White, 15, and Jason Purnell, 16.
Wheatley Historical Society organised an exhibition of village life over the past 100 years in 1972.
In the second picture, Mrs T White holds a poster announcing the auction of the school house her great-grandfather bought in 1857 and in which she lived.
Wheatley Carnival was a popular annual event. The third picture shows the St John Ambulance float passing through the village streets in 1968.
